Old Dog and Young Dog

Young dog is always so much fun to be with, but old Nanako is still affectionate and very sweet.

It was March 20, 1992 when I adopted her from her show handler. She was 16 months old and not even housebroken then. (Imagine it, it was unbelievable to me!)
We had hard times for a while but now it is one of the good memories.
I have quitted to use her for demonstration at training classes or seminars. I know she is still happy to do her job and always loves to go out with me, but I don't want to give her much stress anymore.
Instead of Nanako, I start using Leanne for a demo.
Nanako can play a well-mannered obedient dog but what Leanne can do is a badly-behaved, not much trained bad dog!
I use Leanne because we can show people what we should deal with this type of high energy, excitable dog.
I think Nanako is too old to play this role.

I have noticed that many of the general dog owners who come to the training class or seminar have those kinds of "bad" dogs. What they want to know is how to settle down excitable dogs or how to teach them the basic manners as sit, down, come or not pulling a leash when walking. Leanne is the best one to show them what to do.
Comparing Leanne to Nanako, she is rather laid-back and her personality is much different from Nanako's. Being honest, when I took her home from Chicago last June, I was a bit wondered what to deal with her.
One year after, I do enjoy her character so much. Leanne is so much fun because she is different from Nanako. I have two tastes!

Grooming Leanne is always a hard work, but both of us enjoy it.
At least, I believe she loves to be groomed too. I love long hair and this is why I can't shave down Nanako yet. I know it should be almost the time to do it, because it is getting hard for Nanako to stand stay on a grooming table for a long time.

Daddy's sweet baby.
We all have many happy times and sometimes a bit hard times but we all enjoy 2002.
I guess I will be busy next year too, but I hope coming year will be another happy one to us and to you too.

Thanks for reading and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
