Steroid Nanako has been taking steroid pills since she got thrombocytopenia in June. For her disease may be auto-immune related, we need to restrain her own immune function somehow. Steroid really has broken her appetite controlling center in her brain! She's always so hungry and nobody may satisfy her hunger. This is hard, since late Titi suffered Cushing's Syndrome, I know the side effects of steroid so well. One day I asked my vet if I can try to reduce the amount of steroid for Nanako or not. I tried it for about three weeks and the result was very disappointed - the number of platelet also got reduced to half. She is looking for something to eat almost anytime and I don't know how many times she tore up garbage bags. We have just started to try other pill from a few days ago. I asked my vet what would be its possible side effect and she replied "Should be reducing appetite." "That's great!" I said. I hope this new pill will work well! Adventurous PCA 2000 Anyway, I could see many of my friends again and had great times there. Though my internet site is mostly written in Japanese, (I still can't find enought time to creat English version.) please take a look at photos from PCA 2000 too. What 'Business' means I really don't know what lies ahead in the 21st century, but I hope Addie won't give me much trouble anymore and Nanako will overcome her disease. |

One Sad News -
On December 14, right after I have finished this Poodle Moments, Addie suddenly passed away. She had no trouble the night before. She ate as usual and even enjoyed her cart-walking after supper. I didn't notice anything wrong with her when we both snuggled under a futon. I found she was dead beside me when I woke up in the morning. I should have been up much earlier and should have noticed her condition soon. I do regret why I didn't wake up when she was almost gone. The photo on page 2, Addie and her second cart, is her last picture. |
